The Gazelle Peninsula is located at the North east most tip of the Island of New Britain.
There are two provinces on this Island, East New Britain and West New Britain. The map at the left is from the year 1912.
East new Britain Province has four Districts; Gazelle, Kokopo, Pomio, and Rabaul District.

Most people in the Province are subsistant
farmers and the main cash crops are cocoa and copra.
